An inside look of Saint Patrick's Cathedral.

Work had begun in 1858 and it was dedicated in1879.
It is located on 5th Avenue between 50 and 51st streets in Manhattan.

Elle date de 1879, la 1ere pierre ayant ete posee en 1858.
Elle est situee sur la 5eme Avenue
face a Rockefeller Center entre la 50eme et 51eme rues.

The new Alice Tully Hall

The new Alice Tully Hall has arrived this winter,
new look inside and out.
This concert hall is part of the Lincoln Center
like the Metropolitan Opera and the Julliard school of music.

La nouvelle salle de concert Alice Tully Hall a reouvert cet hiver.
Elle fait partie du complexe du Lincoln Center,
comme le Metropolitan Opera et l'ecole de musique Julliard School.

Presidential visit

Since the beginning of the week,
Manhattan sounds like a never ending siren ..
Police cars, diplomatic missions on the move...
It's just Another session of the United nations.
This guy is climbing the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum
getting ready for the arrival of our President, attending a Gala diner.

Depuis le debut de la semaine,
Manhattan resonne aux sons des sirenes,
de police,de voitures diplomatiques ou presidentielles,
C'est une nouvelle session des Nations Unies.
Ce soir Le Musee Metropolitan recevait notre President
pou un diner de gala en l'honneur des differents pays.
Gants blancs de circonstance...

Bad habits

There used to be a time, when smoking looked elegant,
Hollywood actresses were role models..
A time when a Lady was not supposed to smoke on the streets...

Il fut un temps ou fumer semblait elegant,
Hollywood nous montrait l'exemple..
Un temps ou une femme ,cigarette a la main dans la rue,n'etait pas bien vu..

on ne sait pas toujours dans quelle direction le vent va tourner..

I would guess he was a..."dancer with a muscle cramp"...
Reading the newspaper, sitting on a stool, is much simpler!!

C'est beaucoup plus simple de lire le journal a l'ombre..

Locomotion

When leaving the Metropolitan Museum,

You have the choice as your mean of locomotion...
Walking along Central Park is also a nice alternative.

En quittant le Metropolitan Museum,
Vous avez le choix pour votre moyen de locomotion..
Une marche le long de Central Park est egalement un excellent choix.

I could not decide which one to choose, although I have a favorite

all over the streets of Manhattan.. a much cheaper refreshment.

A few music notes in the background,and it's hard not to move ..
The back of a tourist bus riding around Harlem.

Trois petites notes de musique dans la grosse Pomme,
et l'on ne tient plus en place...
