As you state above, this is also what I find so nice about NYC (and to some extent also Paris); you can be different without any big fuzz. The street life is fascinating! (... of course with your blogger eyes you would notice!)

The black and white was the perfect choice and I'm trying to guess what color the balloons were. It's amazing what colors that don't translate all that well into monochrome. Do you ever shoot video, M-N?

Imaginative and creative. The balloons do look like pearls. I'm sure this is one of those photos that is much more effective in B&W than in color.
