Sadness

Sometimes words are not necessary.
This little guy is eating his lunch
and waiting for his mother selling handbags on a New York street.

Tash June 9, 2009 at 12:50 AM

OMGosh - very intense! and moving. this is a CDP photo of the year. 'Life' photographers have nothing on you.

PJ June 9, 2009 at 12:54 AM

As a mother I know that any number of things could have brought on this moment but it doesn't reduce the impact one iota. Tash is right, it's fabulous.

What a powerful photo. It is so moving, it should be used for a charity campaign or something to help children like him.

God, what a picture! Call Life magazine! It's hard to look at this without getting tears in your eyes!

Peter June 10, 2009 at 3:23 AM

Shaun June 10, 2009 at 3:29 AM

This picture deserves as much publicity as possible. It is incredibly moving and well taken.... great shot... I think if you dont send it off to publications you are doing an injustice to yourself....

Jilly June 10, 2009 at 2:33 PM

Incredible, incredible image. So sad, so moving, so intense. I've read all the comments and I so agree. I just add my words of praise and admiration for your photography, Marie-Noyale and for your sensitive soul.

Fantastic capture!

Catherine June 13, 2009 at 3:10 AM

mire June 17, 2009 at 12:25 AM

Snapper June 17, 2009 at 9:24 PM

Perfection in B&W. Congratulations!

brattcat July 25, 2009 at 10:37 AM

You were certainly in the right place at the right time and you had both the eye and the heart to get this just right.
