The Big Apple
As you may know, New York City is known as"The Big Apple"
There are many stories about the origin , but there is one
I like particularly, even if contested by some..
That's the one I like, that's the One I will tell !!..
It was said that Jazz musicians who finally made it to the City
had a big Apple in their throat before playing in the famous Clubs!...

Il y a plusieurs origines données a ce nom,
mais il y en a une que j'aime particulierement,
meme si elle est parfois contestée, et c'est celle que je vais vous donner:
Il etait raconté que les musiciens de Jazz,
venant jouer pour la 1ere fois a New York, avait la Pomme d'Adam
coincée dans la gorge par le trac, avant leur perfomance
dans les clubs reputés d'Harlem. Et c'est ainsi qu'entre eux
au depart ils l'ont surnommé.

L'histoire est amusante, et pourquoi pas, vraie, car il existe toujours plusieurs vérités.
Il y a tellement de version, avec les musiciens de Jazz , tu as aussi quand il avait decroche un contrat a Harlem, il avait decroche la grosse pomme (le big deal). Historiquement je crois que cela vient de John J. Fitzgerald qui avait entendu ces valets d'écurie appeler les champs de course de New York : The Big Apple, et il a repris le terme dans des chroniques : "Around the Big Apple".
Tu avais vu l'exposition de grosses pommes dans tous New York, avec des pommes differentes, j'avais vu un diaporama c'etait superbe.
C'est une explication comme une autre et elle est assez jolie.
Tout le monde a une explication à l'explication, c'est bien ça le but du jeu.. non ?

I have heard a number of stories about the "Big Apple" and about my own "Windy City" too! I like your version! This piece is interesting! Is it part of a larger series? A very nice photo!
I love phrases that come from jazz musicians --I think groovy is a jazz word for recording... and a possible twenty is jazzy lingo.
Going to look for apple ornaments or make them-- for the Christmas tree this year--this post has inspired me.
