The Big Apple
As you may know, New York City is known as
"The Big Apple"
There are many stories about the origin , but there is one
I like particularly, even if contested by some..
That's the one I like, that's the One I will tell !!..
It was said that Jazz musicians who finally made it to the City
had a big Apple in their throat before playing in the famous Clubs!...
"The Big Apple"

d'abord j'adooorrre ta photo et l'explication me convient parfaitement.
Awesome photo to go with the story! I've never heard that one before.
Love the story and such a good photo - i love the Big Apple!
I've never been to NY but I bet once I do get there, it will probably put a lump in my throat as well!!
I have heard a number of stories about the "Big Apple" and about my own "Windy City" too! I like your version! This piece is interesting! Is it part of a larger series? A very nice photo!
I love phrases that come from jazz musicians --I think groovy is a jazz word for recording... and a possible twenty is jazzy lingo.
Going to look for apple ornaments or make them-- for the Christmas tree this year--this post has inspired me.
That's interesting and I like your version, makes sense!
By the way, I love A River Runs Through It too :)
I've always wondered about the origin of The Big Apple, nicely told, M-N. Where did you find the apple tchotchke ?
Well I never knew that. Great retelling
This is a sculpture, right?
I love that story. And, I can identify with it as well. And as long as I'm on a roll, here, the ceramic (?) sidewalk art is wonderful, too! Nice post!!
